Lake Anne Village Center Historic District

To:  Washington Plaza Cluster Members

From:  Geoff Hurwitz, President, WPCA Board

Subject:  Lake Anne Village Center Historic District

You should have received a letter from the Virginia Department of Historic Resources (DHR) Virginia's historic preservation office, regarding the nomination of Lake Anne Village, including our entire cluster, to the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register.

The DHR will conduct a public information hearing beginning at 7:00 pm in the JoAnn Rose Gallery, Reston Lake Anne Community Center.  The purpose of this hearing is both informational and to provide an opportunity for public participation including the right of stakeholders to state their support for, or objection to, listing in the registers.

The WPCA Board has determined that this listing is in the best interest of our cluster and will communicate our support for the listing.  The listing is outstanding recognition of the unique architectural significance of our homes, and may also provide assistance to our ongoing preservation activities.  Further, the Board sees no disadvantages of being listed on these Registers.  We encourage individual cluster homeowners to comment as well.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.

Regards,

Geoff
