American Disposal Services Bulk Item Pickup Notice

     Our trash contractor, ADS, has provided guidance on handling bulk items.  Basically, oversized bulky item and large household items like appliances or furniture are considered bulk/special waste. Most of these items can be compacted in the back of ADS’s standard collection trucks for quick and easy curbside removal. Contractor Recommendations

One of the challenges of owning a home is the responsibility for maintaining it, often by finding good contractors.  And one of the nice things about living in a cluster of similar homes is that we can often benefit from the wisdom and experience of our neighbors.  With that in mind, the cluster has decided to publish on our website lists of recommended contractors.  The list will generally reflect contractors used by cluster members. 

The first list is in the Documents section of the website under Homeowner Information and addresses roof repair contractors.

Regarding Shared fences (Party fences), An individual can stain their side of the fence without the other side having to be stained

Note that residents can also still allow their fences to weather naturally.

Carpenter Bees!

Save your Fences! Spring is here and so are the Carpenter Bees. Van Foster has kindly recommended a solution that he has found to be effective for managing these pests, found at http://www.e-bug.net The kits sold on this website contain a Drione dust to insert into the bee holes to treat the nests and an insecticide for spraying the fence to prevent future holes from being created. Also, corks are included for plugging the old holes.

Lintel & Facade Power Washing & Painting/Sealing

Hi Folks,

Some of the Lake Anne Condo staff, working on their own time, have been helping WPCA homeowners bring their facades/lintels up to standard by power washing and painting/sealing the surfaces with the approved standard color.

Several people have already expressed interest, and a few homeowners have already had work done and report that they are happy with their work!

Anyone who is interested can contact Mr. Ken Greenway, 703-932-0205,  to schedule such work if they are interested.
